An Innovative Solution to Administer General Assistance
System Requirements

 Server:
  • Windows 8/8.1/10 (64bit only) or
    Windows Server 2012 or higher Operating System is required.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 (Extended) or higher
  • In rare instances, the Server 2012 installation files will be needed and the following article will need to be referenced.  
  • Windows Installer 4.5
  • Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 2.0 ghz or higher.
  • 4 GB RAM minimum, 8+ GB RAM is recommended
  • 75 MB of available hard-disk space for the installation of VisualGA.Net software.
  • Microsoft SQL 2017 Express requires 6 GB of available hard-disk space (NJS will install SQL)
  • 250 MB of Hard-Disk space for the SQL database. If you are going to attach documents such as pdf's, extra space will be required.
  • VisualGA network share must have READ/WRITE access for:
    • Any VisualGA client workstation 
    • NETWORK SERVICE account (or SYSTEM account if the server is a Domain Controller)
  • Backup location (if local) must have READ/WRITE access for NETWORK SERVICE ACCOUNT.  If the backup location is not local, you will need to create a user account that the scheduled task runs under which must have READ/WRITE access to the backup location and whose password will not change (ie. VisualGABackup account). Additionally this user account requires Login as a Batch Job rights under Group Policy.
  • PC cannot be shut down due to scheduled backup and maintenance during off hours
  • Hibernation/power saving must be disabled.
  • Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware must exclude the VisualGA share.  There are several executables that are responsible for auto-downloading updates from the internet.  Even though VisualGA is digitally signed, we still find that programs such as Avast will sometimes block, or worse, quarantine VisualGA runtime files.
  • UPS (Universal Power Supply) to protect against power surges/power outages.  A power surge or outage can corrupt or destroy any open data sources, including the VisualGA SQL database.
  • Any installation, including the reinstallation of VisualGA on a new server for existing Townships MUST be coordinated with us to ensure a complete and proper installation.

 Client:
  • 800x600 resolution minimum (not all screens will show full content), however 1024x768 or higher is recommended with standard (100%) text sizing.  Text sizing set at 125% or 150% is not compatible with VisualGA and will cause portions of the screen to be cut off.
  • Windows 7/8/8.1/10 Operating Systems are supported.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 (Extended) 
  • Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 2.0 ghz or higher.
  • 2 GB RAM minimum; however, 4 GB or more is recommended (required if printing bulk disbursements).                              
  • 50 MB of available hard-disk space for the installation of VisualGA.net software.
  • The VisualGA folder where the program is installed must have READ/WRITE access for users group
  • VisualGA shortcut on desktop points to local VisualGA\VisualGA.exe file. Note that VisualGA will not run unless it is launched from the local computer.
  • The VisualGA client software can be installed from www.visualga.net/install and when prompted, enter the computer name that the VisualGA server is on.
